Things to do

Bruchlas is a short drive from many beautiful sights on the island including numerous sandy and coral coves, castles and woodland. From the house, it is just a short walk to the beach and Knock Castle, while the stunning Cullin mountains are within an easy drive. Clan Macdonald’s Armadale Castle gardens and museum are close by. Isle Ornsay is only three miles up the road where there is a good restaurant and local pub, gallery and artist studio, and where you can experience local music nights.

Sleat Peninsula has plenty of beaches, woodlands, castles and the Armadale Centre, sailing, kyacking and shooting and fishing can be organised.

Outdoors – Skye has masses to offer for people who enjoy the outdoors. From walking and mountaineering, wildlife watching, sailing, kyacking, shooting and fishing. More information on all these pursuits can be gained from the local websites or please ask me when you book.

Food and Drink – there are some fantastic restaurants on Skye including the world famous The Three Chimneys. If you prefer to cook there are some excellent food produces in the area from Highland beef, smoked salmon to scallops, cheese and bakery items. There is also a chance to visit two whisky tasting centres – one at Talisker and the other at Eilian Iarmain Hotel in Sleat.

Culture – whether you want to find out about the amazing history of Skye or explore the various artists and craftsmen there is plenty to go and see. There’s also a music festival in Sleat, theatre and various live music venues through the island.

Family Activities – Skye is a great place to bring your family and offers something for all age groups whether short walks with streams and beaches, kyacking adventures, wildlife boat trips, hiking, climbing or exploring the many castles.
